# Tips-1) What is HTML Audio

The HTML element is used to play an audio file on a web page.

The HTML element is used to embed sound content in documents. It may contain one or more audio sources, represented using the src attribute or the element: the browser will choose the most suitable one. It can also be the destination for streamed media, using a MediaStream.

Example of HTML Audio

To play an audio file in HTML, use the element:
index.html
Example: HTML

Your browser does not support the audio element.

The controls attribute adds audio controls, like play, pause, and volume.

The element allows you to specify alternative audio files which the browser may choose from. The browser will use the first recognized format.

The text between the and tags will only be displayed in browsers that do not support the element.
