How to add Preview Visual Link on WordPress?


Easily create a Facebook-like link preview for any link on your website. You can choose the image and text to display and create your very own custom template. The default template can be styled from the settings to match your website.

Some examples of what you could use this for:

  • A call to action for your affiliate links
  • Promote WooCommerce products on your website
  • List sources for your article
  • A weekly posty of interesting websites you’ve found
  • Link to related posts on your own website

 

Start following.

 

Step – 1

Download Plugin.zip or Download Latest Version to your computer.

 

Step – 2

Login to you wordpress site.

Go to yourwebsite.com/wp-login.php

 

Step – 3

After logging in Your WordPress site.

Click on Plugin + Add New from Left side menu.

 

Step – 4

Now, Click on Upload Plugin Button

 

Step – 5

Now, Browse Downloaded plugin from your computer, Where you downloaded Plugin According to Step – 1 Above.

and click on Install Now.

Now, Click on Active Plugin

Adding a Visual Link in the Block Editor (Gutenberg)

When creating a post or page, click on the + icon and search for the Visual Link Preview block (or even faster, just type /vlp) to add it.

The next step is to select what you’d like to link to. This can be a post on your own website or a link to any other website at all.

For an external site, just paste in the link and press ENTER or click on the button.

For an internal link, click on the dropdown and search for a post on your website. Just click to select one:

At this point, the plugin will try to fetch an image, title and summary from that post or link for your convenience. Once finished you’ll see the suggested link preview and can make changes in the sidebar to the right.

The image, title, summary and template can all be changed to whatever you want. Did you choose the wrong link? Just click on “Change Link” to go back to the previous step.

Adding a Visual Link in the Classic Editor

When editing a post, click on the Visual Link Preview icon in the visual editor.

Fill in the modal that shows up and click the insert button to add it to your post.

After adding it to your post you can edit a visual link by clicking on it.
